You could walk past this a hundred times without looking up. A weathered whale weathervane perched on top of a copper cupola, the W and E still visible on the compass arms, a pale blue island sky filling everything above it. It’s the kind of detail that people who love Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Cape Cod recognize immediately as part of the landscape they keep coming back to.
Whale weathervanes have been a fixture of New England coastal architecture for centuries, and this one looks like it has been sitting on that rooftop long enough to have earned its patina. There is something quietly perfect about it against that sky.
This print works for anyone who has a piece of their heart permanently parked somewhere on the New England coast. It doesn’t announce itself loudly, but it belongs on a wall in the same way these details belong on the buildings they sit on. Natural, specific, and completely at home.
A natural fit for Nantucket cottages, Cape Cod beach houses, Martha’s Vineyard summer homes, and coastal New England interiors of all kinds.
